Living Tips for Seniors GPS

Humans have dreamed about immortality for as long as there have been humans. Yet the “fountain of youth” is still just a myth, and human lifespans today are topping out around 120 years for a few people.  Scientist and author Dr. Aubrey de Grey recently wrote about the Living Tips for Seniors advancing anti-aging technologies and why they may work in his book, “Ending Aging: The Rejuvenation Breakthroughs That Could Reverse Human Aging in Our Lifetime.” De Grey believes that human lifespans of 500 years or more may be just around the corner. But there are many different competing theories of aging, each explaining different aspects of aging but none of which individually explain it all.

“VLCC today is one of the largest wellness brand in the region, and has always taken initiatives to spread awareness about healthy living. As VLCC provides complete wellness under one roof, be it in form of weight management services, skin care, hair care, spa services or day-to-day beauty services, it was a perfect connect with the concept of Summer Wellness, and therefore we came forward to support this initiative as a main sponsor” said Mr. Prafull Dwivedi, Business Head, VLCC International. From this platform, we plan to spread awareness and knowledge about good nutrition for the complete body, be it from obesity point of view or for a health skin or hair. Skin in particular can suffer majorly during the high temperature and high humidity season, and we are also looking forward to educate people on how they can look and feel their best during these uncomfortable months,” he added.
One of those theories of aging has to do with the ends of our DNA strands known as telomeres. Telomeres get shorter with age, kind of like a biological clock within each of our cells. When telomeres get very short or disappear, cells can no longer reproduce well. Either their reproduction stops, or DNA replication misfires and causes genetic damage.

The BIOS WaterCar, a 1972 Mustang converted to run on water and hydrogen fuel, was an event highlight. A live battle of the bands of local talent like The Zero Heroes and Tiik and G.U.T.S. volunteered to provide entertainment for the chance to be featured in the WaterCar documentary.

A Green Living Expo invited the curious to discover sustainable living with exhibits from green organizations across the state. An information table at the entrance raised awareness about New Haven’s green revolution. Volunteers at the Living Tips for Seniors booth handed out fliers and pamphlets on local resources for improving community health and reducing the common carbon footprint. They encouraged appreciation for state forests and special habitats by providing maps locating Connecticut’s greenest spaces.
